This class goes over everything in DR101 DaVinci Resolve Essentials but in a fast-paced learning environment for experienced editors looking to expand their skillset to include DaVinci Resolve Studio. The DR250 takes your existing skills in editing and translates them into the DaVinci Resolve Studio interface. Learn how easy it is to transfer your knowledge as well as learn new skill unique to DaVinci Resolve Studio such as motion graphics, titling, effects, multiuser collaboration projects and more.

Objectives

  • Introduction to the interface, all the pages, tabs and panes.
  • Interacting with and customizing the interface
  • Compare and contrast operations from your familiar NLE to DaVinci Resolve Studio
  • Create and organize projects (duration markers, keywords, smart bins, naming clips with wild cards)
  • Brief introduction to AI-assisted features in DaVinci Resolve Studio (AI transcription, intelliscript, person detection, audio categorization, magic mask, depth map based effects and more)
  • Learn to import and organize media
  • Create a rough cut
  • Learn how to manage Live Save, Automated Project Backups, Timeline Backups
  • Discover how to translate your editing skills/muscle memory to DaVinci Resolve
  • Explore the trim modes and tools, source timeline controls, auto select controls to learn how to navigate the Resolve timeline quickly and powerfully
  • Introduction to how Resolve manages timeline audio between the Edit Page and Fairlight Pages
  • Using basic and intrinsic effects in the Effects Pane and the Inspector
  • Work with transitions and Smooth Cut
  • Create titles
  • Explore key framing in the Keyframe Pane and timeline Keyframe tray
  • A brief introduction to basic effects in the Fusion Page
  • Learn to render, export, remote render and queue in the Deliver Page

Audience

This class is designed for: Editors experienced in Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar – Assistant Editors – Multimedia Producers – Cinematographers – Content Creators

Prerequisites

A background as an assistant editor, editor, or producer is strongly recommended. A working knowledge of Windows or Macintosh or operating systems.
