ED325 Conforming Essentials Overview
Learn the basics on conforming your project, from roundtripping between editing platforms to finalizing your output. Conforming is one of the most critical yet misunderstood steps in post-production. In this two-day, hands-on class, you’ll learn how to take an offline edit and properly prepare it for finishing, ensuring that every shot, frame, and sound element matches the creative intent of the editorial team.
You’ll practice importing and relinking sequences, troubleshooting common problems, and delivering a final, “clean” project that is ready for grading, sound mixing, or VFX. Through guided exercises, you’ll work with real-world handoff packages that contain the same issues found in professional workflows: mismatched frame rates, missing media, temp VFX, and baked-in graphics.
By the end of the course, you’ll have the technical skills and workflow knowledge to confidently conform projects across multiple NLE and finishing platforms, and the ability to spot and fix problems before they derail delivery.
