SN120 SNS EVO Shared Storage Fundamentals Overview
SN120 is a primer for the SNS EVO storage system. The course focuses on hardware, storage provisioning, and core user/permission management – everything you need before ShareBrowser metadata, Slingshot automations, or remote-editing kick in.
This course is designed for post-production engineers, media managers, and IT professionals who support creative teams using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Avid Media Composer.

Objectives
- Understand SNS EVO hardware and software architecture (controllers, RAID groups, EVO OS)
- Cable and IP-plan 1/10/25/100 GbE, bond NICs, and benchmark with SNS Speed Test
- Configure and manage users, groups, and storage shares with quota & bandwidth ceilings
- Tune SMB/NFS/iSCSI on macOS, Windows, and Linux for maximum throughput
- Implement snapshot schedules and tier-2 backup targets (direct attached, NAS, LTO)
- Monitor system health and manage system updates via EVO GUI & CLI; interpret logs
- Troubleshoot core performance issues: drive rebuilds, link aggregation, DNS, MTU
- Apply baseline security: AD/LDAP join, ACLs, immutable snapshots, UPS integration
